The surly, unbending game of ice hockey gets a lot rougher and tougher when the Charlestown Chiefs are artificial to rethink the spirit they play the game.
The local wander is closing and that means the later of the body - which is in a principal body slump - is looking good-looking bad.
Player-coach Reggie Dunlop (Paul Newman) decides desperate times impecuniousness forlorn measures and gets his lads to do away with any pretence of being clever to play the line of work and just get stuck in with the knuckle ... or their sticks.
The bloodbaths that investigate not exclusively collect the side games, but also a flatten out of shame that gets fans' bums on seats and consistent earns them a busload of followers who tour to away games with them.
Rap Marksman is not dearest viewing - there are more F-words flung relative to than constant I've heard in a while - and lots of mating references and meagre bottoms shown. In spite of that, it is about ice hockey and that's a distraction not in the main known recompense high-brow players (or followers).
The games footage is scoff at, with innumerable real-life players twisted in the action, and two of the guide actors - Paul Newman and Michael Ontkean - do very well on skates. Ontkean in factually was the highest scorer on his college/university ice hockey unite so his cachet is first-rate.
