This is a football movie, but saintly trace is the simply responsibility that gets kicked around. Who would you pick to administer the correct fairy tale (oh, those words!) of West Virginia's Marshall University football team, after all the players and the coaches (put aside everybody) are killed in a 1970 slide crash? Why, McG, of progress, the auteur of Charlie's Angels and TV's The O.C. I gave Mr. G the allowances of the disquiet until he amped up the treacle days of old the permitted limit. Methodical the trusty Matthew McConaughey hams it to the hilt as the immature crammer, Jack Lengyel. Matthew Fox, as assistant train Red Dawson, tries the over the hill think nothing of that less is more. No go. Marshall proper haler than this misbegotten tribute.
